I was engaged by National Comprehensive Anglicanism Committee (NCAN) to develop a brand identity and website to support their mission and movement towards a contemporary Australian Anglican Church. The task was to convey the essence of the group's purpose: to promote an inclusive, generous and open-hearted Anglicanism, where differences of opinion are respected and welcomed. The brand needed to appeal to everyday Anglicans.
Layers and intersections of imagery and graphic elements echoed the theme of unity, which is at the heart of NCAN's mission. Each element that was designed as part of the committee's identity tied back to one of three key concepts: care, unity or inclusivity.
The connecting graphic elements are derived from the original version of the logo, which featured all four letters of the acronym NCAN. These abstract letterforms give the organisation flexibility to use them in several different arrangements, to draw the eye to key elements in a design or photograph, and to make NCAN distinct.
A custom website was designed and built as part of the launch, offering readers an insight into NCAN's purpose and people, news and updates, as well the ability to donate to their network and sign-up to their newsletter. This was the primary touchpoint for the brand.
"That was fabulous Lynette. Well done. I know the others (and myself ofc!) are really impressed with your approach, flexibility, design expertise, and manner of communicating.
I wouldn't be surprised if other work comes your way from people in our network, once it is all in circulation, and I will certainly be recommending you."
